A coherent spa concept is not just a figurehead of a hotel, it is almost a success guarantee for the wellness area. At the Rive Spa of the Hyatt Regency in Düsseldorf, Elif Arslan, as spa manager, demonstrated her abilities and with a knowledgeable hand, created a unique spa that clearly exceeded the expectations of the operators.
In the ultramodern media port, the “Twin Towers” lie on a landmark right on the Rhine; Two 19-storey buildings of international star architects. In one of them the Hyatt Regency Düsseldorf has found its home and offers its guests a distinctive and elegant, modern comfort.
In addition to 303 rooms and suites, the Rive Spa, which is named after the French word for river bed, belongs to the hotel. On 485 square metres, the spa takes its guests into a rich offer of relaxation and wellness.
“Sanitas per Aquam” – “Healing through water” – spans the spa concept of Elif Arslan, which is reflected in a unique design and very special treatments. The highlight of the spa is the Vichy-Shower room. Here, guests are treated with minerals and seaweed extracts in traditional Thalassotherapy.
In her role as spa manager, Elif Arslan accompanied the Rive Spa from the pre-opening to three years after the opening. During this time she worked on binding service standards, responsible for the recruitment of suitable team members as well as the training of all employees and freelancers. Among other things, she introduced a performance-oriented remuneration system for the personnel.
For the marketing, she drew up strategic plans and held press events. In the area of controlling, she was responsible for the monthly financial statements, ensuring a targeted use of the budget and prepared forward-looking analysis.
In addition to this, she accompanied the implementation of the IT systems in the spa area, including the interfaces for the rest of the hotel, and supported the creation of a website for the facility, including an e-commerce platform.
As a result, Rive Spa significantly exceeded expectations in terms of service as well as serving as a lucrative profit centre. Under Elif Arslan’s management, the exclusive wellness area was able to look forward to a 95% rating in the Top Hotel Magazine hotel tester.
